22 Year Old Mankato Resident Aims to Complete 16 Ultramarathons
At just 22-years-old, Mankato resident, Nicholas Steel, is on a mission to make ultrarunning history by becoming the youngest person to complete 16 grueling 100-mile ultramarathons in a single year!
His journey is more than an endurance feat—it’s a testament to resilience, pushing past limits, and inspiring others to chase their biggest dreams.
“Ultrarunning is about more than just crossing finish lines. It’s about testing the limits of the human spirit, embracing discomfort, and learning to thrive in the face of adversity. Attempting 16 races in 9 months is an enormous physical and mental challenge that will push me to my limits, but it also provides a platform to inspire others to chase their own adventurous goals,” Nicholas shared.
Tackling races across the Midwest, Steel needs the community’s help to make history, starting this month! With his parents as his dedicated crew, he’s set up a GoFundMe to make the attempt possible!
