Get ready for an event like no other featuring robots built by students from West High School and Dakota Meadows Middle School. Students will be competing in a robotics competition and contest in Mankato on Saturday, March 9 at the Mankato Brewery. It’s actually two events, the first starting at noon going until 3 p.m. featuring a high school scrimmage and robot games/activities, the second featuring the band Problem Child from 7 to 10 p.m. geared more for parents and adults. Mankato West students have won at state every year since 2017 in robotics contests and have won design and excellence awards, skills and programming championships and other accolades in Minnesota, according to one of the program’s coordinators and communication volunteers, Stephanie Drago.
