The 4th Annual Local Foods Month is August 1st – 31st. This year, 12 local restaurants will be featuring menu items with ingredients sourced from nine local fruit, vegetable, and livestock farmers. Local Foods Month aims to build strong partnerships between local farmers and restaurants, celebrating the stories behind the food grown and made in south central Minnesota.

This year’s restaurants are Wooden Spoon, Mom & Pops, Chankaska Creek Winery, Pleasant Grove Pizza Farm, Beans Coffee House, Sherburn Cup Truck, River Rock Coffee & Tea, Tandem Bagels, La Plaza Fiesta Madelia, Black Frost Distilling, Pub 500 and Sweet Haven Cocktail Lounge.

This year’s growers are Blue Dirt Farm, Cedar Crate Farm, Alternative Roots Farm, Leuer Gardens, Rebel Rooster, K&M Fischer Farm, Hannah’s Honey, and Under the Sun Herbs.

This event is hosted by Region Nine Development Commission (RNDC), South Central Minnesota Growers’ Network, and the Minnesota State University-Mankato’s Strategic Partnership Center.
