CenterPoint Energy to repair gas leak on N. Riverfront Drive Starting May 12th

CenterPoint Energy will begin repairs on a gas line along the 500 block of N. Riverfront Drive near Elm Street on Monday, May 12. The project is expected to be completed by Friday, May 16.

The work will address a detected gas leak near 523 N. Riverfront Drive. Although a temporary repair has been made, a long-term solution requires replacing the service pipe and rerouting it to the gas main in the alley behind the building.

During repairs, portions of the parking lane along the 500 block of N. Riverfront Drive and alley behind the building will be closed. Businesses south of the repair area will remain accessible through the south alley entrance. The parking lot behind 529 N. Riverfront Drive will remain accessible from the north entrance. All sidewalks along Riverfront Drive are expected to remain open. View detailed map of the closure.
