Disability Advocates Rally At Minnesota Capitol

(St. Paul, MN)  —  Disability advocates are fighting for an allocation from Minnesota’s massive budget surplus.  Hundreds gathered for a rally in the Capitol rotunda yesterday on Disability Advocacy Day.  Organizations that serve people with disabilities are arguing for an increase in the reimbursement rate for direct care workers.  Agencies say there are nearly 53-thousand job openings for direct support professionals and personal care attendants.
