The election is only six days away — and Secretary of State Steve Simon’s advice to those who still have that absentee ballot sitting on their kitchen table:

“Get in the mail today.  Just don’t take the risk.  You can if you want — there’s no rule that you can’t.  The only rule in play is it’s got to get to your elections office by Election Day.  There’s no exceptions, there’s no postmark.  It’s gotta get there by Tuesday, November 8th.”

If you don’t want to take a chance on mailing your ballot, you may deliver it personally to your local elections office — different from your polling place — or in most circumstances have someone you know and trust deliver it for you. If you do mail your absentee ballot, you can track its progress at mnvotes.gov.  Simon says nearly 376-thousand ballots have been accepted since the September 23rd start of voting season in Minnesota.
