The Govenaires Drum and Bugle Corps capped a triumphant weekend in Indianapolis by winning the All-Age Division, Class “A” championship at the Drum Corps International Finals and placing 10th overall. Their score of 83.075 surpassed several ensembles from the larger Open and World classes, reinforcing their competitive stature on a national scale.

This marks the Govenaires’ second consecutive DCI All-Age Class “A” title, following their inaugural win in 2024. Founded in 1927 and based in St. Peter, the Govenaires are the oldest continuously active drum and bugle corps in the United States, known for their vibrant performance style and championship pedigree.

Securing a top-ten overall ranking – finishing ahead of several corps from larger, better-resourced divisions – underscores the Govenaires’ exceptional artistry, precision and competitive strength. Building on this year’s results and continued organizational growth, the corps is considering the next step in its journey by moving into the larger Open Class for the 2026 DCI season. This transition would place the Govenaires alongside some of the most well-known and well-funded ensembles in the activity, a challenge that reflects not only their competitive readiness but also their commitment to artistic innovation and sustained excellence on the national stage.

Later this month, the Govenaires will bring their crowd-pleasing performance style to an international stage, participating in the Rose of Tralee parade in Ireland.
