Kiwanis Holiday Lights Raises $100,000 for Area Nonprofits During 2024 Season

Dozens of nonprofit groups in Mankato will be splitting 100-thousand dollars thanks to the Kiwanis Holiday Lights. Kiwanis Holiday Lights recapped the 12th annual festival on their Facebook Page:

“The Kiwanis Holiday Lights Board of Directors is pleased to announce that, for the second year in a row, $100,000 will be donated to the 63 non-profit organizations that assisted with the event this past year. This free, volunteer-run event showcased over 2 million energy-efficient LED lights in the Mankato community.

โžก๏ธ Over 155,000 people attended over 33 nights
โžก๏ธ 9 TONS of food donated to 19 regional food shelves
โžก๏ธ 3,000 children visited Santaโ€™s workshop on weekends
โžก๏ธ Set-up complete in 10 days over 5 weekends, tear-down in 2.5 days
โžก๏ธ 63 local non-profit groups
โžก๏ธ 51 Greater Mankato businesses participated as cash sponsors, and 30 businesses were in-kind sponsors, showing continued support for the event
โžก๏ธ 14,400+ volunteer hours to set-up, tear-down, & run the event

For the 12th year, visitors were encouraged to vote on their favorite non-profit tree this year. Winners were.
1st place โ€“ One Bright Star – $300 prize
2nd Place โ€“ Mankato West VEX Robotics – $200 prize
3rd Place โ€“ Merely Players – $100 prize
