Lowering corporate taxes in MN isn’t top agenda item for major business group
Using part of the huge budget surplus to lower business taxes is not top-of-list for the Minnesota Business Partnership, which represents larger corporations in the state. Executive Director Charlie Weaver says “certainly everyone can find a way to give some of this money back” but says education and infrastructure are also important, as well as housing — particularly in rural Minnesota:
“Places like Polaris or Marvin Windows or Hormel or Mayo Clinic or all these great companies outstate, it’s a big struggle to recruit talent, and part of the problem is there’s no housing and there’s no daycare.”
