A Mankato man with a history of drug convictions is now facing multiple new felony charges after authorities say he was caught with over 85 grams of methamphetamine during a July 2 traffic stop. According to a criminal complaint filed in Blue Earth County District Court, 43-year-old Johnathan David Rosillo is charged with two first-degree drug offenses — possession and sale of meth — along with a gross misdemeanor for violently resisting arrest.

The Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force (DTF) began investigating Rosillo in late May after a confidential informant purchased methamphetamine from him during a controlled buy. Agents monitored the deal, which took place in Rosillo’s garage, and observed him preparing and completing the sale. A cooperating defendant later confirmed meth use at the property, and the purchased product weighed 27.1 grams.

On July 2, DTF agents stopped a Cadillac Escalade registered to Rosillo’s wife, Jessica Rosillo, after surveillance indicated the couple was planning to deliver a large amount of meth. Johnathan, a passenger, reportedly refused to exit the vehicle and violently resisted officers. During the altercation, he attempted to conceal a glass jar containing 85.2 grams of methamphetamine by laying on top of it. A subsequent search of their residence uncovered additional meth, digital scales, and drug packaging materials. Rosillo has two prior felony drug convictions and is currently facing charges in another pending narcotics case. He remains in custody at the Blue Earth County Jail.
