Mankato Police encourage families to discuss child safety after Attempted Abduction Thursday

On the morning of 4/24/25 at approximately 8:36 a.m., Mankato Department of Public Safety responded to a report of an attempted abduction. Officers talked with the child who made the report along with their family to gather further information.

As the case continues to be investigated, Mankato Police are asking families to use this reported incident as an opportunity to discuss and reinforce child safety practices. This includes, staying in groups when walking to and from school, avoiding interactions with strangers and reporting suspicious activity immediately to a trusted adult or law enforcement.
