Mankato Salvation Army To host a Community Meal on Easter Morning
The Salvation Army in Mankato will once again be hosting a delicious community meal this Easter. The menu is loaded with homestyle comfort foods, serving biscuits & gravy, sausage links, blueberry muffins, fruit and eggs with the possibility of more choices (while supplies last). Juice, coffee, and milk will be available as well. The atmosphere will be great as well with live worship and music while folks are gathered around the tables.
“Resurrection Sunday is a big day for many churches and families” said Captain Andy, one of The Salvation Army’s officers/pastors in Mankato. “We recognize that the importance of this day could put undue pressure on families that struggle to make ends meet or to plan for a fancier meal at home. We are so glad to offer this community meal to take some of that pressure off already over-burdened households.”
The Salvation Army will provide a great meal, good fellowship, live music, Biblical preaching and children’s activities. Doors of the dining room will open at 10AM, with all the activities to follow. Doors will close promptly at 11AM.
“As a mother who cares a lot about tradition and meals together with my family, I am excited to offer a new tradition for those in search of it.” said Captain Corey Wheeler, one of The Salvation Army’s officers/pastors in Mankato. “We love to spend time with people and look forward to hosting this great community this way again.”
This will be a dine-in experience only, with no ‘to-go’ options available. Bring your friends and your family.
