Minnesota State Mankato’s Maverick Center for Financial Success Celebrates Opening with Inaugural Conference on Friday

Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Maverick Center for Financial Success will celebrate the opening of the Center on Friday, April 11 with an inaugural conference on financial success held from 11 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in MSU’s Centennial Student Union, Rooms 253/4/5. Registration for the conference is closed.

The conference will include panel discussions on agribusiness, small business succession and personal finance curriculum in Minnesota schools, in addition to sessions on student financial success and financial planning and a presentation on financial literacy.

Topics of discussion at the agribusiness panel include: How the rural economy, agribusiness and developing state policy is shaping Minnesota’s economic landscape; insights into the substantial economic contributions of the agricultural sector; and how targeted policies are working to bridge urban-rural divides to create a more resilient state economy.

Topics of discussion at the small business succession panel include: Practical advice on ownership and leadership transitions; identifying and nurturing potential leaders for a smooth transition; efficiently transferring business wealth; and addressing the personal and financial goals of business owners post-transfer.

The conference sponsor is the Charles Schwab Foundation.
