Spring Lake Swim Facility Closed for the 2026 Season
The City of North Mankato is notifying residents that the Spring Lake Park Swim Facility will be closed for the 2026 season to allow for necessary repairs and planned facility improvements.
This announcement comes at a time of year when seasonal pool passes are typically made available. Due to the closure, no swim facility passes will be sold for the 2026 season.
The swim facility, located at 641 Webster Avenue, sustained damage during the summer of 2024 following excessive rain and flooding. The event was later declared a federal disaster, resulting in higher water levels and a raised water table that impacted the liner of the sand-bottom pool. Repairs are required to ensure the long-term safety and functionality of the facility. Funding assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will help support this work.
While the facility is closed, the City will also plan several enhancements and features, including:
- Expansion of pool deck and turf area
- New features designed for children ages 2-12
- A designated lap swim area
- Updates to the entryway and bathhouse
- Improvements to the heating and filtration systems
- Additional upgrades throughout the facility
Residents are encouraged to watch for the new features when the swim facility reopens for the 2027 season.
Although the swim facility will be closed this summer, Spring Lake Park and the rest of the park system will remain open, offering many other ways to enjoy time outdoors.
Community members looking for swimming opportunities in 2026 may wish to explore early bird pass sales at other community pools in the greater area. The Splash Pad in Fallenstein Park is another popular no-cost option and is typically open during summer months, weather permitting. In addition, North Mankato offers a wide range of recreation programs, with spring and summer program registration opening February 1, 2026.
Sponsors connected to the swim facility are currently being contacted to discuss options during the closure.
