Workers at behavioral services facilities in St. Peters are protesting several workplace concerns.

Employees at the Forensic Mental Health Program claim the radios they use for emergencies consistently fail. Others complain that new construction has forced staff at a nearby Minnesota Sex Offender Program to use an outdoor port-a-potty or walk in freezing temperatures to another building’s restroom.

Workers recently staged a protest at the St. Peter’s Forensic Mental Health Program, which houses people with serious mental illness and the sex offender program.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services released a statement claiming that they are committed to the safety of the nearly 13 hundred employees on their St. Peter campus.
