Mankato’s Leaf Pick-up Service Continues through November 23

Mankato’s leaf pick-up service is wrapping soon with crews planning to canvass the City between now and Wednesday, November 23 (not including the weekend). Service is based on the weather and cold temperatures because they can impact leaf pick-up machines.

Helpful tips:

  • Place leaves in the gutter (on the street but next to the curb–no alleys).
  • Leaves only please, because brush can damage the leaf vacuum machine.
  • Streets need to be free of parked cars for the leaf vacuum machine to get through.
  • Residents having a home on a corner lot are asked to pull leaves from the street corner because the leaf vacuum machine turns too wide to pick up leaves left on the corner.

Once leaf pick-up service ends for the year, leaves may be brought to Minnesota Paving and Materials, 57032 231st Lane, Mankato. There is no cost for non-commercial Mankato residents who provide photo identification. Woody waste should be separated from compostable materials. The facility is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. View a yard waste drop-off map.
