(Empire Township, MN)  —  Empire Township will soon be Minnesota’s newest city.  Around 33-hundred people live in the township located about 25 miles south of the Twin Cities near Farmington.  Local leaders pushed for the change because they want control of their future for decades to come.  The township will be sworn into city status later this month, along with mayor-elect Trent Larson and city councilmembers.
