Frontline Worker “Hero Pay” Subject To Tax

(St. Paul, MN)  —  The “Hero Pay” rewarded to over one-million frontline workers in Minnesota is subject to a federal tax.  The nearly 490-dollar bonuses paid out to health care workers,  grocery store employees, and others on the frontlines of the pandemic aren’t taxable on the state level.  However, the IRS says the money is considered income for federal purposes.
