- Mankato and Minnesota show slight drop in employment in April 2025
- Several tornadoes reportedly touched down in Minnesota yesterday. One tornado was reported in central Minnesota near Melrose, around 30 miles northwest of St. Cloud, according to the National Weather Service. Another reportedly left behind debris in Spring Hill, not far from Melrose. Some tornadoes were also seen in western Minnesota. The NWS says a trained observer spotted one spinning southwest of Benson, around 120 miles west of the Twin Cities. Another was observed not far from there, southwest of Morris.
- A young man faces seven years in prison after pointing a gun at a group of girls in Rochester. The incident happened in the parking lot of a Taco Bell last summer following some sort of argument. Yesterday, 20-year-old Trayveon Tom Heuangsayaseng Jr. plead guilty to an assault charge in exchange for two other charges being dropped. The plea deal calls for up to seven years behind bars.
