Mankato Department of Public Safety responds to crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian Tuesday Morning

Earlier this morning, Mankato Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the 1400 block of Monks Avenue.

Emergency personnel discovered that a 21-year-old female was crossing the pedestrian crosswalk when she was struck by a southbound vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to Mayo Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk, along with additional charges. The incident remains under investigation.
