Mankato Woman Hospitalized in Motorcycle Crash Sunday in Brown County

A Mankato woman was injured in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening in Brown County. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 59-year-old Dawn Marie Smith was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson westbound on Highway 68 near the intersection with Highway 15 in Cottonwood Township when she lost control and went off the road.

Smith, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was a factor in the crash. The road conditions were dry at the time, and no other vehicles were involved.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Allina Ambulance assisted at the scene.
