MN House passes bill to access $315M in federal infrastructure funds
The Minnesota House late Monday afternoon unanimously passed legislation to provide over 315 million dollars from the federal Infrastructure Investment Act to MN-DOT for transportation projects. Minneapolis Democrat Frank Hornstein:
“This *is* a big deal — and for Minnesota to maximize our ability to leverage these funds, we need to pass bills like this.”
House Speaker Melissa Hortman says it’s important to pass the bill early in session to access federal funds and be ready for the spring construction season. Majority Leader Jamie Long says it “moves Minnesota one step closer to unlocking billions in federal funds to improve our trunk highway system.”
