MPD Chief Gathers With Lawmakers To Discuss Car Theft Bill
(St. Paul, MN) — The Minneapolis Police Department is pushing for a bill that would require car manufacturers to install anti-theft devices on certain car models in Minnesota. Chief Brian O’Hara gathered with lawmakers today to discuss why its important to pass the measure as soon as possible. O’Hara said Minneapolis has seen an 835-percent increase in Kia and Hyundai thefts over the last year, calling it an “easily preventable” but serious public safety issue.
