According to court records dated March 6, Abdirahman Jama Samatara, an 18-year-old, allegedly pursued a student who had left class for the restroom, engaging in multiple instances of sexual misconduct.

Authorities assert that surveillance footage from the school corroborated the accusations leveled against Samatara.

The alleged assault is said to have taken place at an address associated with Mankato West High School, as per Mankato Public Safety.

While Mankato Area Public Schools refrained from confirming whether the purported incident took place within their district, representatives cited a general policy of non-disclosure during ongoing investigations to uphold students’ privacy.

On Monday, Samatara was formally charged in Blue Earth County with one count of 5th degree criminal sexual conduct, classified as a gross misdemeanor, and another gross misdemeanor charge for indecent exposure in the presence of a minor.

As of now, future court proceedings for Samatara have not been scheduled on the county’s calendar.
