Storm Clean-Up Continues

Minnesotans continue to dig out from this week’s winter storm. State Fire Marshal Jim Smith is encouraging you to clear the snow away from fire hydrants in your neighborhood:

“Fire doubles in size every 30 to 45 seconds and the longer it takes for a fire department to shovel out a hydrant to get that needed water for your fire — your home fire or business fire is going to be the time that the fire is going to grow and grow and grow.”

Smith also says to walk around your house and clear snow from any vents you have coming out from your home.
