Currently one in five adults in America are living with arthritis. To help local community members affected by arthritis, VINE is offering, Walk with Ease, a free six-week evidence-based program. Walk with Ease was developed by the Arthritis Foundation and is proven to reduce pain while improving overall health. The program has been offered at VINE since 2019, helping participants get into shape, walk more comfortably, improve their flexibility, and reduce pain caused by arthritis.

Participants will meet on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, January 27 – March 7, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the VINE Adult Community Center with Jen Wunderlich, VINE’s Health and Fitness Center Manager. Walk with Ease provides health education, motivation, and tips to safely make walking a part of everyday life.

“Walk with Ease is a great way to improve your health and it’s a wonderful opportunity for people to connect with their peers who are encountering similar circumstances,” Wunderlich said.

The Walk with Ease program is free and open to the public. Those interested in signing up for the program must be capable of standing on their feet for 10 minutes or more without pain.

More information about the program, including how to register, can be found online at www.vinevolunteers.org or by calling Wunderlich at (507) 386-5588.
