VINE Faith in Action has received a $7,500 grant from the Mankato Clinic Foundation to expand Health and Wellness Programming at the VINE Adult Community Center in 2023 including evidence-based classes and caregiver counseling.

VINE’s Evidence-based health programs have had a profound impact on local participants including increasing flexibility and endurance, improving nutrition, decreasing weight and blood sugar levels, building strength, and improving balance. The Mankato Clinic Foundation Grant will allow VINE to offer more evidence-based classes to older adults in the region. Although VINE already receives some funding for its caregiver support services, not all counseling is covered. The Mankato Clinic Foundation Grant will also help cover those unfunded instances of caregiver counseling.

The Mankato Clinic Foundation provides grants once a quarter to organizations and initiatives that promote and improve community health and wellness in the communities the clinic serves.

“Our health and wellness programs align perfectly with the Mankato Clinic Foundation because we offer direct support for the health and wellbeing of our older community members,” VINE’s CEO, Melinda Wedzina said. “Our health initiatives promote and improve community wellness.”

The physicians at the Mankato Clinic provide the majority of the Foundation funding as a means to give back to the community by providing support to organizations which strive to improve health and wellness. Grants are awarded on a quarterly basis and are considered only through the application process. Applications are available at www.mankatoclinic.com/mankato-clinic-foundation.
