CHIPS Act Signed by Biden, Senator Smith Reacts
The CHIPS Act was signed into law by President Biden this week. The bipartisan bill aims to bring back the manufacture of semiconductors to the U-S. Senator Tina Smith says the new law will create jobs, lower costs and protect America’s national security interests…
“Modern life depends on semiconductor chips whether it’s your car or your coffeemaker or the medical devices that you rely on or the equipment that our National Guard members rely on everything needs a semiconductor chip.”
Senator Smith says for decades now countries in Asia have dominated the semiconductor chip market. She says the CHIPS Act will reverse this by bringing manufacturing back to America and investing in American science and technology.
