Application Period Opens for Minnesota ‘Support Our Troops’ Grants

Organizations in Minnesota that help out military veterans can now apply for state grant funding. The application period for the Support Our Troops or “SOT” grants is open through October 7th.  The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs says organizations with programs designed to support and improve the lives of veterans and their families may apply for grants ranging from one thousand to 100-thousand dollars.  The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe received a 93-thousand-dollar grant last year to assist 50 homeless veterans.  The program is funded by Support Our Troops license plate sales.  There’s more information and applications at MinnesotaVeteran-dot-org.
