Political shots are flying from both campaigns, even before Governor Tim Walz and Republican challenger Scott Jensen take the debate stage this morning (1030am) at Farmfest near Redwood Falls:.

Jensen released his Rural Minnesota plan Tuesday, pledging to make state agencies more responsive on permits,  build out rural broadband, support E-15 choices, end fertilizer taxes, reform estate taxes, and enhance the farmer tax credit.  State D-F-L Party Chairman Ken Martin responded Jensen as a state senator led the charge against a bipartisan deal which would have expanded the Beginning Farmers Tax Credit and Agricultural Homestead Credit.  Meanwhile the Jensen campaign accused the Walz administration of being openly hostile toward the agricultural industry, farmers and rural Minnesotans.
