City of Mankato and Blue Earth County Work Investigating Sirens inadvertently sounding in Mankato

The City of Mankato’s Department of Public Safety, in partnership with the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating the inadvertent activation of the outdoor warning sirens this morning in Mankato.

Both agencies are working together to identify the cause and ensure the system’s reliability. At this time, only a portion of sirens in Mankato have been activated in error.

As a precaution, preparations are being made to temporarily take the siren system offline while the issue is resolved. Community members are encouraged to remain alert by monitoring local media outlets and official City communication channels for emergency information.
