Crash in Mankato Township Thursday Afternoon Results in Fatality

A deadly crash in Blue Earth County Thursday afternoon claimed the life of a Mankato man. The Minnesota State Patrol says the collision occurred at approximately 3:26 p.m. at the intersection of 195th Street and Stoltzman Road in Mankato Township.

According to authorities, a 2023 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup was traveling westbound on 195th Street when it collided with a 2023 Triumph Thruxton motorcycle heading northbound on Stoltzman Road. The motorcyclist, a 72-year-old man from Mankato, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup, a 52-year-old man from Garden City, was not seriously injured. The names of those involved will be released by the State Patrol on Friday evening.

Emergency crews from the Mankato Police Department, Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Ambulance, and St. Clair Fire Department responded to the scene. The State Patrol reports that road conditions were dry at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
