DFL Leaders Expect Progress on Sports Betting This Year

D-F-L leaders say a bill to legalize sports betting will be considered by the Minnesota Legislature during the 2023 session.  House Speaker Melissa Hortman told Capitol reporters:

“That’s kind of a conversation for another day, but I believe that we will be making progress on that issue this year.”

Hortman says Representative Zack Stephenson of Coon Rapids will again be sponsoring legislation.  His measure last session would have allowed adults to bet on sports through mobile apps or at the tribal casinos in Minnesota.
