Recent polls show Democratic Attorney General Keith Ellison trailing Republican challenger Jim Schultz.  Hamline University analyst David Schultz (no relation) says Ellison needs significant turnout today in Minneapolis and Saint Paul:

“Even in the Twin Cities suburbs his support is weak, and so he needs a… very, very high turnout in the cores of Minneapolis and Saint Paul if he expects to be able to win this race.”

Analysts generally agree that Ellison’s support even in the metro area has eroded because he associated himself with “defund the police” groups after the murder of George Floyd.
