Fire at Pennington Hall on Minnesota State University, Mankato campus causes at least $25,000 in damages
On Monday, December 15 at approximately 12:49 p.m. Mankato Department of Public Safety firefighters responded to a fire in a racquetball court at Pennington Hall, 421 W. South Rd. When firefighters arrived they located flames burning under the floor and behind a wall. The fire was quickly extinguished and was contained to one racquetball court.
No one was injured and damages are estimated at $25,000.
Construction work in the area is believed to be the cause of the fire though it remains under investigation.
