First Snow Falling in Parts of Minnesota
Some parts of Minnesota are seeing the first snow of the season. National Weather Service Meteorologist Joe Calderon says snow showers started Thursday in the north and northwest:
“The northern half of the state could see an inch or two. So not a lot. Not looking for it to stay around. But we’re getting there…into the season if you will. Even here closer to the metro along the I-94 corridor and a little bit north of there could see a dusting to maybe a half inch.”
He doesn’t expect any snow south of the Twin Cities. Calderon says it’s not unusual to receive the first snow in mid-October in Minnesota.
