A Fix-It Clinic will be hosted at Mankato Makerspace, 1700 3rd Avenue, from 1-4 PM on Saturday, March 21st  .

Have a broken toaster, torn jacket, or glitchy lamp? Don’t toss it — bring it to the free Fix-It Clinic! You will get help from skilled volunteers who can assist with repairs and teach you hands-on DIY skills.

Residents are welcome to bring up to two items from home that need repair. Volunteers will be on hand to help identify your item’s issue and try to restore it to working order.

The goal of Fix-It Clinics is to reduce the number of items sent to the landfill, help change our mindset about disposing of items that can actually be brought back to life and empower people to be fixers.

No pre-registration required.

What to expect:

  • Items should be carry-in size for hands-on repair.
  • First-come, first-served. Limit 2 items per household.
  • Items accepted until 30 minutes before the event ends.

Non-accepted items:

  • Large items that cannot be carried by one person.
  • Items with gasoline engines.
  • Smartphones or tablets.
  • Items needing a full zipper replacement (this repair isn’t available during the event due to time constraints, however some smaller zipper repairs can be done).
