Get ready for health insurance open enrollment on MNsure
Officials say health insurance premiums are going down an average of three-plus percent next year for those who buy through MNsure (MIN-sure, the state-run exchange), and Minnesotans should get ready for open enrollment which begins November 1st. MNsure C-E-O Nate Clark says an updated “shop-and-compare” tool will be available by mid-October:
“Give a few bits of information — your zip code, the number of folks in your household who need coverage, your estimated income — and with that you can get a quick estimate of benefits you might be eligible for, but you can also search and compare plans for next year.”
For those who need extra help, Clark says MNsure has a network of a couple thousand “assisters” around the state — and there’s no charge. Go to mnsure.org for someone near you.
