Good Counsel Learning Center receives grant from Mankato Clinic Foundation
Good Counsel Learning Center has received a $5,000 grant from the Mankato Clinic Foundation to be used for the Center’s scholarship program. Over 70% of students request scholarship funds that give them access to tutoring services.
“We are excited to have the Mankato Clinic Foundation continue in partnership with us as we strive to enable students to improve their lives. Whether it’s helping youth be successful in school or adults learn English to speak more clearly to their doctors, the Center’s goal is to be here for those in need,” says Sister Dorothy Zeller, Director.
For 55 years, Good Counsel Learning Center has tutored children and adult learners in reading, language arts, math, and civics. This includes clarity in speaking and writing, improved vocabulary and comprehension, basic math skills, and preparation for the citizenship test with a one-on-one model. At the present time, the Learning Center continues tutoring services at 170 Good Counsel Drive and will continue in the greater Mankato area after the sale of the Hill property.
The Mankato Clinic Foundation provides grants every quarter to organizations and initiatives that promote and improve community health and wellness in the communities the clinic serves. The Mankato Clinic Foundation is proud to support these organizations.
