Governor Tim Walz Drops Out Of 2026 Minnesota Governor’s Race

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is ending his re-election bid. In a statement, Walz said he came to the decision after reflection with his family and team over the holidays. This comes as the state and Walz have been under renewed scrutiny after a video from conservative independent journalist Nick Shirley claimed to show abandoned day cares that have received taxpayer money. Walz said, “Every minute I spend defending my own political interests would be a minute I can’t spend defending the people of Minnesota against the criminals who prey on our generosity and the cynics who prey on our differences.” Walz is scheduled to speak at noon Eastern.
