JOANN Closing Mankato Store Among 12 Minnesota Closures in Bankruptcy Filing
Joann, the crafting and fabrics retailer, plans to close more than half of its remaining stores, including 12 stores in Minnesota including it’s Mankato location after declaring chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time in less than a year.
The company filed a motion Wednesday in bankruptcy court seeking to shutter around 533 of its 800 U.S. locations.
The initial store closing list includes at least one location in all 50 states, except Hawaii.
The states with the most stores closing include California (61), Florida (36), Pennsylvania (33), Ohio (33) and Michigan (33).
Joann previously declared bankruptcy in April 2024, a restructuring that saw it delisted from the U.S. stock exchange and become a private company as part of a bankruptcy deal.
