Jobs report shows pause in August
Minnesota’s unemployment rate ticked up one-tenth of a point to 1.9% in August. DEED Commissioner Steve Grove:
“Minnesota took a pause in job growth in the month of August. We lost 3100 jobs on a seasonally adjusted basis that’s down point 1% From July.”
Grove says job growth has been less consistent than usual coming out of the pandemic recession, however, the trend toward growth has remained strong.
