Juvenile female rescued from North Mankato house fire passes away
The North Mankato Fire Dept is saddened to report that Autumn R. Paulson, age 12, has died because of injuries sustained in the house fire at 524 Lyndale Ave. on the morning of September 19th.
The other victim, Stefanie Scharbach, age 41, the mother of Paulson, who was also hospitalized, was treated for smoke inhalation and has been released from the hospital.
Both Paulson and Scharbach resided at the home in which the fire occurred.
Fire investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire, but preliminary indications are that it was accidental in nature.
The fire remains under investigation by the MN State Fire Marshal’s Office, the North Mankato Fire Department, and the North Mankato Police Department.
