Le Sueur County Sheriffs Office Closes North Access on Lake Washington

Le Sueur County Sheriff Brett Mason reports as of 9:45pm on January 9, 2026, the North Access on Lake Washington in Le Sueur County is no longer accessible to enter onto or exit Lake Washington.  The ice conditions have deteriorated at the access, making it unpassable meaning anglers will need to find alternate routes off the lake.

Please be mindful that travel through the narrows of Lake Washington is not recommended.  Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office has closed the North Access on Lake Washington.
