Lehti Joins Mavericks in Net
MANKATO, Minn. — Minnesota State men’s hockey coach Luke Strand has announced Lassi Lehti will join the Mavericks as a graduate transfer for the 2026-27 season.
Lehti, who played four seasons at Alaska, started in 25 of 26 games this year, logging 1,492 minutes while posting a .919 save percentage and a 2.51 goals against average. The Nanooks skated to a 13-9-1 record with Lehti in net as he led the team in all goaltending categories.
During his four-year stint in Fairbanks, Lehiti appeared in 51 games, while boasting a 23-13-5 record. The 6’4″, 209-pound backstop owns a career .920 save percentage.
“Lassi brings us experience with great numbers and success over his college career,” said Strand. “We are excited to have a crease filled with talent and work ethic.”
A native of Espo, Finland, Lehti spent two years in the NAHL with El Paso and Minot in 2021-22. During that time he went 14-18-3 with a 2.83 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.
