Lizzo Cheers Winner in MnDOT’s ‘Name a Snowplow’ Contest

Grammy Award-winning singer/musician Lizzo is a big fan of the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s “Name a Snowplow” contest.  Sixty-four-thousand votes were cast and one of the plows in MnDOT’s eight districts has been named in Lizzo’s honor:

“To know that there is a snowplow with the name “Blizzo” that is clearing the streets of the Twin Cities right now makes my heart melt – or freeze.”

Lizzo thanked the sixth-grade students in the north metro for leading the “Blizzo” plow campaign:

“I want to shout out Osseo Middle School for nominating me as the recipient of this esteemed honor.”

Lizzo says in her Twitter video, “thank you so much for supporting me. No matter where I go in my career, I love you Twin Cities.”
