Majority Of Minnesotans Polled Believe Crime Has Increased
(Minneapolis, MN) — More than half of Minnesotans who responded to a recent poll say crime has increased in their community over the past few years. The Star Tribune/MPR News/KARE 11 Minnesota Poll also shows that a strong majority don’t personally feel afraid for their safety in their neighborhood. The state crime report released in August shows violent crime rose 22-percent last year over 2020. Republicans who responded were more likely than DFL/Democrats or Independent voters to believe that crime rates had gone up.
