UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in December 21 Homicide Investigation

A suspect is in custody in connection with a shooting that occurred on Saturday. Mankato Public Safety Officers executed a search warrant on the 500 block of East Walnut Street where Guenther Boone, Jr. (DOB 6/29/06) was taken into custody without incident. Boone is wanted in connection with the homicide that occurred early morning on Saturday, December 21. Upon receiving a call around 3:15 a.m. Saturday morning, Mankato Police responded to the 100 block of Grove Street for a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was found inside a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are requesting multiple charges including murder, 2nd degree. The identity of the victim will be released by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are assisting in the investigation.
