Mankato Man Charged with 5th Degree Assault and Threats of Violence
A Mankato man was charged with 5th Degree Assault and Threats of Violence. Shaquielle Deandre McNair of Mankato was charged in Blue Earth County District Court On Thursday. Charges include:
Threats of Violence – Reckless Disregard Risk, a Felony with a Maximum sentence of 5 years or a $10,000 fine, or both
5th Degree Assault – Fear of Bodily Harm or Death, a Misdemeanor with a Maximum sentence of 90 days or a $1,000 fine, or both.
According to the criminal complaint on December 31, 2024, at approximately 10:46 PM, officers of the Mankato Department of Public Safety were dispatched to a location in Blue Earth County to a Victim calling and stating a male, who was identified as Shaquielle Deandre McNair, was threatening to harm the Victim, refusing to get out of the car, and the Victim did not feel safe.
Officers arrived at the Victim and McNair’s location and spoke with the Victim. The Victim reported she was friends with McNair. McNair asked if he could come over and hang out. McNair started drinking and became verbally aggressive towards her and the Victim told McNair he needed to go home. The Victim gave McNair a ride home. During the ride home, McNair repeatedly yelled at Victim. The Victim stated this made her scared fear for her life. When they arrived at McNair’s residence, the Victim told him to get out McNair refused.
The Victim told officers she was 6 months pregnant and she also feared or the safety of her unborn child.
Officers ordered McNair out of the vehicle. McNair denied making any threats and stated he would not get out of Victim’s car because it was cold outside.
