Mankato Man Charged with Firearm Violation After Ammunition Found During Search
A Mankato man with a violent criminal history is facing a felony firearm violation after authorities discovered ammunition in his home during the execution of a search warrant. According to a criminal complaint filed in Blue Earth County District Court, 61-year-old Timothy Ray Wordlaw is charged with illegal possession of ammunition as a felon previously convicted of crimes of violence.
On June 30, 2025, agents with the Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force searched Wordlaw’s residence on East Walnut Street in Mankato. During the search, officers found two shotgun shells on Wordlaw’s bed. Wordlaw, who was present at the time, was immediately arrested. Due to previous felony convictions—including terroristic threats, third-degree criminal sexual conduct, and felony domestic assault—Wordlaw is legally prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under Minnesota law.
If convicted, Wordlaw faces up to 15 years in prison, a $30,000 fine, or both. He remains in custody pending further court proceedings.
